Stasi & Kim-Schaad Survive Playoff to Win

WELLINGTON, Fla. – For the third time in four years, Meghan Stasi and Ina Kim-Schaad raised the trophy at the Women’s International Four-Ball Championship. Kim-Schaad and FSGA Hall of Famer, Stasi survived a playoff to capture the victory on Thursday at The Wanderers Club.

This is the third time the duo has captured the Women’s International Four-Ball together. Stasi picks up her seventh International Four-Ball victory, while Kim earns her third.

Stasi and Kim-Schaad finished Wednesday’s first round near the top of the leaderboard, finishing the day with a 1-under 71. Kim-Schaad carded two birdies on the day for the pair, while Stasi added another. Heading into the final round, the duo sat two shots back of Jessica and Sarah Spicer, who posted a first-round 69.

Beginning the final round on the 18th hole, Stasi rolled in a birdie on the third hole for team and added another on the seventh to finish the first nine at 1 under for the day. Kim-Schaad carded back-to-back birdies on the 12th and 13th holes to move the team to 5 under for the tournament.

Kim-Schaad, a New York native, birdied the 17th to force a playoff with Lauren Greenlief and Alexandra Austin at 6-under 138. Kim-Schaad and Stasi fired a championship-low 67 in the final round.

After both teams finished with par on the first playoff hole, Stasi hit her approach shot to 6 feet. The FSGA Hall of Famer made the downhill-sliding putt to capture the victory for her and Kim-Schaad.

Greenlief and Austin finished runner-up after rounds of 70-68 for the championship. First-round leaders, Jessica and Sarah Spicer took third place after a final-round 73 to finish the championship at 2-under 142.

In the Middle division, Patsy Ehret and Marianne Springer took home first place, carding a 4-over 148 for the week. Judith Dwyer and Ellen Miller finished runner-up in the Middle division, while Sandie St. Onge and Debbie MookSang took third.
