The Women’s Senior Amateur Championship kicks off this Monday, April 8th at Worthington Country Club in Bonita Springs, FL. The two-day, 36-hole Championship contains a strong field of 84 players. Recent FSGA Women’s Senior Amateur champions in the field include defending champion Lynda Case, three-time champion Diane Lang (2006, 2010, and 2011), 2009 winner Jan Phillips, and 2008 champion Taffy Brower. The Super Senior Championship will take place April 9-10 at Lake Wales Country Club in Lake Wales, FL. Lake Wales Country Club is a historic and true Donald Ross design that has hosted many FSGA Championships as well as countless USGA local qualifiers.
The 36-hole Super Senior Championship offers a competitive Championship environment for male golfers 65 and older. The 120 player field is separated into three age divisions; 65-69, 70-74, and 75 & older.
The defending Super Senior champions include Jim Carley, of Ormond Beach, who posted 68-78--146 at Black Diamond Ranch to win the 65-69 age division. Walt Martin, of Saint Augustine, shot 74-78--152 to capture the 70-74 age division while Bill Feehan, of Marco Island, fired 82-73--155 to win the 75 & over flight.
