The FSGA has finalized the 2014-2015 Winter Series Schedule. The Winter Series runs from late November through early March, and includes seven competitions: six individual events and one four-ball event. There are three age divisions; Mid-Senior (40-54), Senior (55-64) and Super Senior (65 & over). Winners of a season long points list earn exemptions into FSGA State Championships throughout the summer.
The 2014-2015 Schedule will kick-off after Thanksgiving Weekend at the Indian River Club in Vero Beach, November 24-25. The Indian River Club has been the host site of numerous FSGA State Championships, and US Open Local Qualifying. The next stop is December 8-9, at River Wilderness Golf & Country Club in Parish, a gem bordering the Manatee River. After a break for the holidays, the Winter Series stays in the Sarasota/Bradenton Area, returning to TPC Prestancia's Stadium Course, on January 4-5. Taking a slight turn North, the Winter Series will visit Buckhorn Springs, in Valrico for the first time on January 19-20. Buckhorn is a challenging venue with some of the highest elevation in Hillsborough County. The fifth stop for the Winter Series will be at Lake Wales County Club, February 2-3. Lake Wales CC is a historic Donald Ross course, located in the center of the state and is a treat to all golfers. The lone Winter Series Four-Ball event will head to Southern Hills Plantation Club, February 16-17, in Brooksville. Host since 2009 of PGA Tour Qualifying School, this Pete Dye course is sure to make you hit every club in the bag, while rolling though the scenic and peaceful hills of Brooksville. The Winter Series will conclude March 2-3 with the Individual Event at Santa Lucia River Club in Port Saint Lucie. A Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, has been a home of numerous FSGA Championships and qualifiers, US Open Local Qualifying and will serve as a great test of golf for the season finale. Exemptions Into State Championships
Amateur Championship Exemption
- The individual with the most points in the Mid-Senior (40-54) Age Division at the conclusion of the Winter Series will receive an exemption into the 2015 Amateur Championship.
Mid-Amateur Championship Exemption
- The individual with the most points in the Senior (55-64) Age Division at the conclusion of the Winter Series will receive an exemption into the 2015 Mid-Amateur Championship at Sara Bay Country Club.
