US Mid-Amateur Championship Underway

2013 Player of the Year, Jon Veneziano and 3 time Mid-Amateur Stroke Play Champion Don Bell highlight 13 Floridians at U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship

13 Men from Florida are competing in the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Saucon Valley Country Club, in Bethlehem, PA:

  • Stephen Anderson, of Hobe Sound
  • Don Bell, of Port Orange
  • Nikil Desai, of Sanford, FL
  • Lloyd Fisher, of Dade City
  • Jamie Girardi, of New Port Richey
  • Jeff Golden, of Jacksonville
  • Thad Hudgens, of Longwood
  • Chad Ibbotson, of Sanford
  • Brian Kennedy, of Highland Beach
  • Jon Veneziano, of Mount Dora
  • Matthew Salane, of Jacksonville
  • Mike Weeks, of Jupiter
  • Robbie Wight, of West Palm Beach

Players will play 36 holes of stroke play on the Old Course and Weyhill Course on Saturday and Sunday, before the field is cut to the low 64 for match play beginning Monday morning.

By virtue of qualifying for the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, the 13 players also earned exemptions into the FSGA Mid-Amateur Championship, October 9-12 at The Loxahatchee Club in Jupiter.
