Memorandum to Contestants

On behalf of the FSGA, congratulations on qualifying for the 42nd Four-Ball Championship.  We hope that you enjoy your experience in competing at a state championship and take many favorable memories from your time at Quail Valley Golf Club

Please take time to carefully read through this packet of information.  There are several important pieces of information contained here, some of which require action by you, by a certain time (e.g. hotel reservations, practice rounds, etc.).  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Championship Department, (813) 632-3742.

Registration Deadline

By 3:30 PM, Monday, July 12th, each team must:

Remit to the FSGA office, $120.00 per team for advance payment of championship fees at Quail Valley Golf Club.  Championship fees include cart fees, range balls for all competitive rounds and a yardage book. Players may send a check to the FSGA office or pay by credit card online through the account manager or my account feature at www.fsga.org.  Payment must be received by Monday, July 12^th, or your team will be withdrawn from the Championship.

Failure to meet this deadline will be considered tantamount to withdrawal.  A place will then be offered to an alternate.  We stress that all qualifiers must meet this deadline of Monday, July 12^th.

There will be no registration the day before the Championship.  If we have received your payment for your cart fees by Monday, July 12^th your team has registered for the Championship. 

Championship

36 holes of four-ball stroke play.  Range balls will be available before and after each competitive round. The practice range will be available until 5:00 PM Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

Each player will be issued a club locker upon arrival for your practice round.  We would appreciate that all contestants use the clubs locker room facilities.

Accommodations

There are two headquarter hotels.  The first is the Palm Court Resort Hotel.  The room rate is $89.00 per night.  For reservations, please call (772) 231-2800.  Next, The Vero Beach Hotel & Club, and the room rate is $119.00 per night.  Call (772) 231-5666 for reservations

When making reservations please identify yourself as part of the FSGA Four-Ball Championship. 

Directions

The Quail Valley Golf Club and Golf Course are located three and one-half miles west of Highway US 1 on the south side of 69th Street (SR 508).  

From US 1 - take  US 1 to 69th Street (SR 508).  Go west approximately 3.5 miles and the Club will be on the left.

From I 95 - Take I 95 to the Fellsmere/Sebastian Exit.  Head east to SR-510.  Turn right on SR-510 and continue to the stop light at 66th Avenue.  Turn right on 66th Avenue, continue south to 69th Street, turn right (west) and go approximately just over 1 mile -    the Club is on the left.

From Orlando International Airport to I-95 - Take SR-528/Beeline east to I-95 south.  From here follow directions above (From I-95).

From Palm Beach International Airport to I-95 - Take Belvedere Road east to I-95 north.  From here follow directions above.

Practice Rounds & Practice Facilities

Players may play a practice on Monday July 12 and Wednesday July 14 after 11:00 am, Thursday July 15 before 1:00 pm and Friday July 16 after 11:00 am on a space available basis. Players may call three days in advance to schedule their practice round.  Each player may only play one practice round.  Only qualifying participants may play practice rounds.

 All players must take a cart and the cost of the practice round including range balls and cart is $35.00 plus tax. Starting times for your practice round can be arranged by calling the club.  You may not make your tee time before groupings are made. The golf shop telephone number is (772) 299-0093 ext. 11.

Carts

All players must ride during the Championship rounds.  

BE PREPARED TO WALK - Quail Valley does not have cart paths from tee to green.  All competitors must be prepared to walk if there are wet conditions and we are not allowed the use of golf carts.

NOTE:  NO ONE OTHER THAN THE PLAYERS MAY RIDE IN A CART.

THIS INCLUDES CADDIES AND SPECTATORS.

Charges

The golf shop will accept cash and Visa/MasterCard for payment for golf carts for the practice rounds or any other charges in the golf shop.  Players may use Visa/MasterCard ONLY for a method of payment for food and beverage charges.

Spike Policy

It is a condition of the Florida State Golf Association that shoes with traditionally designed spikes (regardless of composition, i.e. ceramic, plastic, etc.) or spikes, regardless of design, comprised either entirely or partially of metal (when such metal comes in contact with the surface of the putting green) are prohibited.  Penalty for breach of this condition: Disqualification.

Pace of Play

In order to accommodate 96 players, it is essential that the game be played at a brisk pace which may be defined as four hours and thirty minutes in groups of four during the Championship rounds.  The pace of play will be monitored.  If and when it should become necessary to speak to individual players about slow play, we hope they will react with the understanding that we do it in the best interest of the championship and the other players.

The pace of play for the Championship will be posted on the Notice to Competitors.
