Boys' 16-18 Division

On a day where birdies were scarce and only four players could break par, it was Ben Williams who would shine. With an opening round of three-under par 69, the Tallahassee native was in position to capture his first ever FJT tilte. However, Williams would have to carry his stellar play over to Sunday's final round as past FJT Champions Brett Schell, Cody Carroll, and John Dubois sat only one back. The bunched leaderboard would make for an exciting finish. Williams played well for much of the final round, turning in two-under par 34, but would struggle coming home in three-over par leaving the door open. Brett Schell would take advantage, firing a flawless final round of 68 to overtake Williams and claim his third FJT title, his second at Southwood GC.

Girls' 16-18 Division

In the Girl's 16-18 Division, it was Lauren Miller who would hold the first round lead at Southwood Golf Club after posting a one-under par 71. The solid opening round put Miller one shot ahead of Megan Schofill and two ahead of Izzy Pellot and Celeste Valinho. Beginning her final round on ten, Miller would expand her lead to two following a birdie at the par 4 eleventh. However, bogeys at twelve and fourteen would offset the hot start. Miller could never regain the momentum, eventually carding a one-over par, 73 good enough for a second place finish. In the group ahead, after going out in even-par 36, Izzy Pellot would begin to roll. Pellot would come home in four under-par, 32 to card a final round 68, good enough for a three-shot win and her first FJT title of the 2018 season.

The FJT visits Southwood Golf Club at least once every year and the tournament always has one of the strongest fields. Southwood is FSU's home course for the men's and women's golf teams and the coaches are almost always around during the tournament days watching potential recruits.

Travel to Tallahassee to compete on Southwood's tricky greens, then take advantage of being near FSU and tour the campus and historic city.

Southwood Golf Club is not a typical Florida-style course. Designed by Fred Couples, the par 72, 7,100+ layout consists of rolling fairways with some elevation changes and undulating putting greens.
