Wasserstrom & Collins Shine in the South

September 7, 2025

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – This year’s Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship (South) at the Fazio Course at PGA National was yet another tightly contested shootout. The team of Austin Collins & Jonah Wasserstrom outlasted the field to secure victory at 18-under par total.

Birdies were easy to find Saturday morning, with favorable conditions and a getable layout on the Fazio Course at PGA National. The round of the day belonged to the team of Austin Collins & Jonah Wasserstrom, who started off strong with an eagle on the par-5 first hole. Five birdies in a row from holes 7-12 propelled them into the lead, closing in on the end of their first round. With just their final shots left on the 18th hole, thunderstorms induced a two-hour-long weather delay. After finally resuming play around 2:50 PM, they finished with par to post an 11-under 61, good for a three-shot lead. Sitting in a tie for second were the teams of Richard Donegan & Joseph Latowski as well as Carl Santos-Ocampo & Marc France

Our round one leaders, Collins & Wasserstrom, got off to a slow start, only managing two birdies in their first nine holes. Donegan & Latowski took advantage and fired off four birdies to push things into a one-shot tournament with nine holes remaining. After making the turn, the teams caught fire, both birdieing their first three holes. Another birdie by Donegan & Latowski would even things up with four holes remaining. With two birdies on 15 & 16, our round one leaders Collins & Wasserstrom took back control of the top spot by two shots and coasted their way to a one-shot victory in this year’s Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship (South) at 18-under par total. Richard Donegan & Joey Latowski finished in solo second at 17-under par over the two rounds. Third place was secured by Parker Little & Evan Berlin, who posted consecutive seven-under 65’s over the two days of competition.
