TAMPA, Fla. — Each year, the FSGA Foundation invests in the future of golf. Not only by growing the game, but by supporting the young people who represent it best. Through the FSGA Foundation Scholars program, deserving students receive four-year renewable scholarships to help them pursue their education.
The FSGA Foundation is proud to announce that the Class of 2025 is our largest group of FSGA Scholars in program history. Thirty-eight students were awarded with four-year renewable scholarships. With 93 active scholars currently supported, this program continues to grow each year thanks to the generous contributions of the FSGA Foundation.
These scholarships open doors for young golfers by recognizing academic excellence, leadership, and character. Several of our FSGA Scholars are already making their mark at the next level. Katelyn Huber, a 2019 Futures Champion, 10-time FJT winner, and member of Team Florida from 2021–2025, in her very first collegiate event, finished in 4th place. Meanwhile, Arth Sinha, the 2023 Boys’ Junior Champion and 2024 Team Florida member, earned a top-5 finish in his first college tournament.
They’re joined by peers like Ryleigh Knaub, a five-time FJT Champion and USGA competitor, and Shawn Coultoff, a three-time FJT Champion and past Junior Match Play and Boys’ Junior Champion.
But the impact of the FSGA Scholars program doesn’t stop at graduation. Past scholars have gone on to do extraordinary things in golf and beyond:
- Nicholas Gabrelcik – Class of 2020 Scholar, turned professional in 2024, now competing on the PGA Tour.
- Madison Opfer – Class of 2012 Scholar, Controller and Golf Professional at Buckhorn Springs Golf & Country Club.
- Sydney Schrader – Class of 2016 Scholar, Head Golf Professional at Sawgrass Country Club and the first female professional in the club’s history.
- Kendall Griffin – Class of 2021 Scholar, now Assistant Women’s Golf Coach at Mississippi State.
- Madyson Gold – Class of 2020 Scholar, FSGA Tournament Director and past FSGA State Champion.
And many more have found success outside of golf, proving that the values instilled through the game carry into every career path.
As the program continues to grow, so does its impact. The Class of 2025 is proof of what’s possible when the golf community comes together to invest in the next generation.
Now, it’s time to look ahead. Applications for the Class of 2026 are officially open. If you or someone you know meets the requirements, we invite you to be part of this tradition of excellence.
