Celestino and Kutz Capture Titles

Nick Celestino and Alessandra Kutz captured their respective titles at the Florida Junior Tour’s (FJT) event at Killearn Country Club & Inn in Tallahassee, February 13-14.

Nick Celestino, of Sarasota, went wire to wire in the Boys Division, to win his first FJT event by five strokes. Celestino, carded an even par 72 in the first round, which included five birdies to hold the lead by one stroke heading into the final round. In the final round Celestino continued his solid play by firing a one over par 37 on the front nine, and an even par 36 on the back nine, for a tournament total of 1-over par 145. Jordin Corchis, of Watersound and Collin Engelhardt, of Orlando, finished tied for second place with a tournament total of six over par 150.

Alessandra Kutz, of Sanford, jumped to an early lead in the Girls Division, by shooting the low round of the tournament with a three under par 69 in the first round. Kutz’s first round 69 included four birdies and just one bogey. In the final round Kutz held it together to fire a five over par 77, for a dominating ten stroke victory. This is Kutz’s second career FJT victory. Stephanie Liu, of Bradenton, finished alone in second place with a tournament total of 155. Lauren Gros, of Gainesville, finished in third place with a tournament total of 156.
