Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club is the site of the 2008 Men's Interclub Team State Championship

Welcome to the 2009 Men’s Interclub Team Championship! We hope you have a great event and congratulations on making it to the finals!

Juliette Falls is the site of the 2009 Men's Interclub Team State Championship.  Since it has opened, this beautiful 18-hole, par-72 course has been ranked in the “Top 10 New Golf Courses You Can Play"according to Golf Magazine.  It features a rolling park-like design with many elevation changes and is highlighted by four waterfalls.

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:  36 holes of individual net stroke play (scored with Stableford points). Each team's daily score will be the sum of:

  • Their six (6) lowest individual net scores (highest net Stableford points)
    • Players whose scores are not used on day one can have their scores for the second round count.
    • Players who are disqualified under a Rule of Golf during the first round will remain eligible for the second round.
    • The winning team of the State Championship will be the team that has the highest number of points over a two-round total.
  • Net Stableford points are as follows: Double Eagle 5-points, Eagle 4-points, Birdie 3-points, Par 2-points, Bogey 1-point, Double Bogey or higher 0-points
  • The team with the highest number of points is the winner.

ROSTERS: To be eligible for the State Championship, a player must have played in a minimum of two matches (either two regular season or one regular season and one playoff).  Eight gentlemen will compete Saturday and Sunday. Substitutions ARE allowed between Round 1 and Round 2.  Rosters must be submitted to the FSGA via email (kruhe@fsga.org) no later than March 30, 2009.  Please submit everyone who is eligible and might play in the State Championship.  Once your roster is submitted, no substitutions or alterations are allowed (rare exceptions may be granted by Committee).

CHAMPIONSHIP TEE TIMES: Tee times will start at 12:00 pm (noon) Saturday.  Play will start from #1 and #10 tees.  Sunday's tee times will start at 8:30 am and also will be a #1 and #10 tee start.  We will have tee times posted on the FSGA and Interclub websites no later than Tuesday, March 31st. 

CHAMPIONSHIP FEE:  The FSGA is paying for all competitive rounds including carts and there are no entry fees.  This event is being provided in appreciation of your club's membership in the FSGA and the GHIN handicap system.

PRACTICE ROUND INFO: Practice rounds are allowed.  The cost is $45 per player.  Practice rounds are allowed one week prior to the event.  Tee times are unrestricted during the week, but must be made after 9:00 am if played on a Saturday or Sunday. Please call (352) 522-0309 to schedule a practice round.

SATURDAY POST-ROUND: The FSGA will be providing refreshments and appetizers after the round on Saturday.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Click here for hotels in the Dunnellon area.  Please note that the nearest hotels are about a 20-minute drive from the course, so plan accordingly! The FSGA does not have a group rate at any hotel.

CADDIE & SPECTATORS:  Spectators and caddies are always welcome at FSGA Championships. Only players are allowed to ride in carts.  If a player employs a caddie, the caddie MUST walk and the player’s clubs must remain on the golf cart.

CONDITIONS; SCHEDULES – The FSGA Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions, provisions and/or schedules.  The decision of the Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS:  LaCita Country Club in Titusville posted a Stableford score of 302 and won in a playoff to capture the FSGA Men's Interclub Team State Championship at Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club Tampa, April 5-6, 2008.
