TOURNAMENT INFORMATION-JUNIOR DIVISION

 

1.         FORMAT:  Juniors will play 9 holes of modified alternate shot using stableford scoring each day.

  

2.         COURSES:  The Junior division will play the “Oak Trail” executive course. Flights will consist of 6-9 and 10-11year olds.

 

3.         ACCOMMODATIONS:  Arrangements have been made at The Radisson Resort Parkway for $79.00 per night.  The deadline for reservations is July 24th.  Call (800) 634-4774 and identify yourself as a FSGA competitor for reservations.  Additional accommodations are available the Hampton Inn for $59.00 or the Homewood Suites for $79 per night. Call (407) 396-2229 and identify yourself as a FSGA competitor for reservations.

 

4.         REGISTRATION:  Registration table will be a set-up by the scoreboard located by Palm/Magnolia putting green.

 

A one day - one park Complimentary Ticket from Disney will be available to each competitor. Ticket is valid for August 1-3, 2003 only. You may pick your ticket up at the Bonnet Creek Pro-shop on Friday from 9 AM to closing.

 

 

5.         SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:  

·         Oak Trail course - Mickey Mouse will be present between 10:30 and 11:00 AM with play to begin at 8:00 AM for the 6-9 year olds and 11:30 AM for the 10-11 year olds. Mickey’s golf cart will also be available for pictures from 7:30 AM to the completion of golf each day.

                                                                     

6.         PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice times on the Oak Trail Golf Course are available any day from July 29-August 1, AFTER 10:00 AM. Cost is $15 plus tax for the adult while the child is FREE. Practice times maybe obtained by calling Jim Holigson at (407) 938-3867. 

 

7.         MODIFIED ALTERNATE SHOT WITH STABLEFORD SCORING:  Modified alternate shot is mostly known as a Pinehurst Format.  Which simply means that each player will hit a tee shot off of every hole?  You then will switch drives and play and each person will hit a second shot on every hole.  After each person plays their second shot the team will select the best shot and then alternate playing that ball into the hole.

·         Stableford scoring system:

o        Double Bogey   - 1 point

o        Bogey               - 2 points

o        Par                   - 3 points

o        Birdie               - 4 points

o        Eagle                - 5 points

o        Double Eagle    - 6 points

 

8.         BE PREPARED TO WALK:  All competitors must be prepared to walk if there are wet conditions.
