The Florida Junior Tour rolled through Eustis last weekend as the Girls age divisions 13 - 18 took on the difficult Black Bear Golf Club. Windy and cold conditions made for a tough event, but that did not stop Juliana Camargo, of Winter Garden, and Manon Donche-Gay, of Reunion, from outlasting the field of 62.
Girls 13-15
Camargo posted a first-round 69, which would end up being the only sub par round of the entire tournament. After day one, Camargo held a 4-shot lead over Emily Staples, who was the next closest competitor. She continued to distance herself from the field on Day 2, shooting a solid 76 in blustery conditions to capture a six shot victory over the field. This is Camargo's first victory of the 2018 season, and her first sub-par competitive round of the year.
Girls 16-18
In the highly competitive 16-18 year old division, Manon Donche-Gay shot a first round 75 to hold the lead by one shot over Lauren Heinlein and Laura Lou. Steady play in tough conditions gave Donche-Gay the victory on Sunday when she fired a final round 74 to win by four shots over Lauren Heinlein and Jenny Kim. This is Donche-Gay's second FJT Top-5 and first victory this season.
The FJT will move on to Cimarrone Golf Club in Jacksonville this upcoming weekend, February 10-11.
