Kumar & Putrino Engage Beast Mode

March 17, 2019

ROTONDA WEST, FL. – Noah Kumar & Jacqueline Putrino continue to impress on the Florida Junior Tour circuit.

Boys 16-18 Division

Kumar finished round 1 tied at even par with Scotty Kennon, Bryce Walker, and Thomas Salanito. All of these players would fall back in round 2 with Bryce Walker shooting 77 and the three others firing 76. Andrew Clark's steady 74's would add him to the four-man playoff between Kumar, Salanito, Kennon, and Clark. They went back to the 18th hole and one hole was all it took. Noah Kumar played the playoff with ice in his veins. Finding the left fairway with his tee shot, he stuck an 8-iron to five feet. Clark and Salanito would make bogey, and Kennon par. After Noah got his read, he took an extra second to confirm and there was never a doubt. The birdie putt was true and he won his second consecutive FJT!

Scotty Kennon, Thomas Salanito, and Andrew Clark all finished tied for second.

Girls 16-18 Division

The most impressive round of the tournament would go to Jacqueline Putrino. Her opening 76 put her three back to start the final round. She flipped that 76 with a bogey free 67 to win by four strokes. This was the only red number of the weekend for any golfer in the entire event. Of her five birdies, three of them came on the par 5's. This is Jacqueline's fourth Florida Junior Tour win and her first of the 2019 season!

The always competitive Caroline Patterson and Skylee Shin would finish tied for second.
