First Selections Named to Florida Cup Teams

TAMPA, Fla. – Eight players were officially named to the 2019 Women’s Florida Cup North and South teams on Thursday. The Women’s Florida Cup will be held Oct. 20-22 at Tampa Palms Golf and Country Club in Tampa. Two sixteen player teams, representing the North and the South of Florida, will compete in this Ryder Cup style format.

Tama Caldabaugh, Kelli Pry and Therese Quinn received nods for the North Team based on points, while Carolyn Creekmore was a committee selection.  As the top-four points leader, Mary Jane Hiestand, Tara Joy-Connelly, Lisa Schlesinger and Meghan Stasi will represent the South Team.

The rest of the 16-player teams will be named later this month, following the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
