Turner Takes 36-Hole Lead at Boys’ Junior

What Happened

Jack Turner moved into the top spot on the leaderboard after the second round of the 66th Boys’ Junior Amateur Championship at Streamsong Resort. Heading into Monday’s final round, seven players sit within 10 shots of the lead.

Starting the day on the 12th hole, Turner began the day with a 2-over front nine. The Orlando native got hot on the back nine, with a birdie on the third hole, following it with an eagle on the par-5 fourth hole. Turner finished the day with back-to-back birdies to shoot a second-round 70. 

Two players are tied for second at 2-under 144, while four players sit in a tie for fourth at 1-under 145. 

Notable

Turner is the only player in the field to post back-to-back under-par rounds.

Carson Brewer fired the low round of the day, posting a second-round 69, to pull into a tie for second place heading into the final round.

Nicholas Prieto, the first-round leader, carded a second-round 75 to fall back into a tie for second place.

Five players posted under-par rounds on the Black Course at Streamsong on Sunday.
