Gimenez, Ferry and Foegen Win at Palm Harbor

PALM COAST, Fla. – Lucas Gimenez, Honorine Nobuta Ferry and Cooper Foegen took home Floruda Junior Tour wins on Sunday at Palm Harbor Golf Club. Gimenez came out on top in the Boys 11-12 Division and Ferry was victorious in the Girls 11-12 Division, while Foegen got the victory in the Boys 9-10 Division.

This is the first FJT win for all three players.

Boys 11-12

Gimenez used a 4-under 140 to earn his first FJT victory. The Jacksonville native posted a 2-under 70 in Saturday’s first round to take a two-shot lead over the field.

He began the final round with an eagle on the par-5 third hole. Gimenez added two more birdies on the front side to make the turn at 2-under. He finished the day with an even-par back nine to post a final-round 70 and take the three-shot victory.

Gimenez was the lone player in the field to card two under-par rounds. Lion Ziao Liu finished runner-up, finishing the weekend at 1-under 143. Nemo Tsai took third place at 1-over 145.

Girls 11-12

Ferry used a 2-over 146 to secure the 10-shot victory and her first FJT at Palm Harbor. She took a share of the first-round lead, after a 4-over 76 on Saturday.

The Pinehurst native got off to a hot start in the final round, posting an even-par front nine. She continued her strong play on the back side with three birdies to post a final-round 70, the low round of the Girls 11-12 Division.

Angelina Pacheco finished the weekend in second place at 12-over 156, while Nicole Sardinha took third at 16-over 160.

Boys 9-10

Foegen picked up his first FJT win on Sunday, finishing the weekend at 4-over 148. He began the weekend with a 3-over 75 to sit five shots back of the leader heading into the final round.

The Hobe Sound native began the day with an even-par front side. After a double bogey on the fourth hole, Foegen birdied two of his next three holes to move to 1 over for the day. He secured the one-shot victory with a final-round 73.

Bento Assis put together rounds of 70-79 to take second place at 5-over 149. His first-round 70 was the low round in the division. Ayden Febres finished third at 11-over 155.
