Two Teams Win Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Titles

TAMPA, Fla. – Two teams took home wins at the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championships on Sunday. The duo of Dustin Dingus and Ed Waller captured the North victory at TPC Tampa Bay, while Joey Latowski and Ben Finely picked up the win at Eastpointe Country Club.

North

Dingus and Waller took home a 3-shot victory on Sunday with a final-round 63. The duo began the championship with a 5-under 66 in the first round to sit two shots back of the first-round leaders, Joe Alfieri and Paul Royak.

Dingus and Waller got off to a strong start in the final round, birdieing three of the first five holes. They made the turn at 4 under for the day and kept it going on the back nine. The pair played the first four holes of the back nine at 4 under, with Waller carding an eagle on the 12th.

They used the low round of the championship to get the victory, finishing the final round with a bogey-free 63. Justin Grant and Weston Parrish used two rounds of 66 to finish runner-up at 10-under 132. Marc Dull and Mike Finster took third at 9-under 133. Alfieri and Royak, the first-round leaders, finished fourth at 8-under 134 after a final-round 70.

South

Latowski and Finely survived a playoff to capture the victory at Eastpointe CC, finishing the championship at 11-under 133. The pair carded a 5-under 67 to sit four shots back of the leaders, Braden List and Derek Hurwitch, at 9-under 63.

After a bogey to start the final round, Latowski and Finely birdied four of the next five holes. They made the turn 4 under. They used a final-round 66 to take a share of the lead with Stephen Anderson & Jon Veneziano and Kasey Denesevich & Daniel Eggertsson at the end of the day.

Latowski and Finely birdied the second playoff to secure the victory, while Anderson & Veneziano and Denesevich & Eggertsson finished tied for second.
