FSGA Scholars Find Success On & Off the Course

May 13, 2022

TAMPA, Fla. – Each year the Florida State Golf Association Scholars Program gives out more than $80,000 in college scholarship to students around the state. The scholarship program is made possible by the FSGA Foundation.

The FSGA Foundation works to protect, preserve, and grow the great game of golf. The Foundation is focused on the development and advancement of our junior golfers, awarding college scholarships to golfers around the state and providing tournament assistance to junior golfers across Florida.

Each spring, the FSGA Foundation selects golfers from the Florida Junior Tour’s graduating class to be awarded a renewable four-year scholarship. Scholarships are awarded to high school seniors with an outstanding display of academic achievement, sportsmanship and community service.

In addition to the FSGA Scholars Program, the FSGA also awards the James E. Demick Scholarship to one high school senior each year for $10,000 and will be renewable for up to four years. The scholarship is named in honor of former FGSA Executive Director, Jim Demick, who spent the last 24 years of his life dedicated to the FSGA and the game of golf.

Applications for this year’s graduating class close on June 1. Click here for more information on how to apply.
