WELLINGTON, Fla. – Meghan Stasi and Ina Kim-Schaad captured their fourth Women’s International Four-Ball Championship victory in five years on Thursday at The Wanderers Club. The duo fired a 13-under 131 for the two-day championship to win, the lowest two-day total in the tournament’s history.
This is the fourth time the duo has captured the Women’s International Four-Ball together, while Stasi picks up her eighth International Four-Ball victory and Kim earns her third.
“We just enjoy playing together, its very stress free because she’s got my back and I’ve got hers,” Kim-Schaad said.
Stasi and Kim-Schaad finished Wednesday’s first round at the top of the leaderboard, finishing the day with a 6-under 66. Kim-Schaad carded two birdies on the front side, while Stasi added another on the fourth hole. The pair posted a bogey-free back side with three birdies to end the day with a one-shot lead over the field.
Stasi, a member of the FSGA Hall of Fame, got the final round started with a birdie on second for the team. Kim-Schaad kept it rolling, rattling off three-straight birdies on Nos. 2-5. After a bogey on the sixth, Stasi carded back-to-back birdies for the team to make the turn at 11 under with a three-shot lead.
“We just have a lot of fun out there,” Stasi said. “We were able to be aggressive out there today. We had a lot of good looks at it and rolled the putts in.”
Stasi and Kim-Schaad posted a bogey-free back side with two birdies to secure the wire-to-wire victory. The pair’s final-round 65 was the lowest final round since Lauren Greenlief and Lauren Miller’s final-round 64 in 2018.
“We’re both really consistent, and we both trust each other to have the par in the bag so we can be aggressive with our birdie putts,” Kim-Schaad said.
Sarah Spicer and Jessica Spicer put up a strong fight, as they finished the week in second place at 10-under 134. The duo fired two rounds of 67 with a bogey-free final round to finish the championship three shots back of the winner.
Blakesly Brock and Lauren Greenlief took third place at 9-under 135, while the teams of Courtney McKim/Tara Joy-Connelly and Linda Jeffery/Tara Fleming finished tied for third at 3-under 141.
In the Middle division, Sandie St. Onge and Debbie MookSang took home first place, carding a 1-under 143 for the week. Marianne Springer and Patsy Ehret finished runner-up in the Middle division, while Lou Tenarvitz and Melissa Gotfredson took third.
