Two Teams Capture Senior Four-Ball Victories

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – Diane Chancellor and Kathy Glennon captured the victory at the Women’s Senior Four-Ball Championship on Monday at Marsh Landing Country Club. Chancellor and Glennon used rounds of 71-71to take home the win with a 1-under 142 for the championship.

This win marks the first FSGA victory for both Chancellor and Glennon.

Chancellor and Glennon held a share of the first-round lead at 1-under 71 with Mary Jane Hiestand and Adrienne MacLean. The two teams finished Sunday’s first round two shots ahead of the field.

The team of Chancellor and Glennon began the final round with an even-par front side, finishing the side with a birdie and a bogey. The duo kept it rolling on the final nine, playing the final nine bogey-free with Glennon adding a birdie on the 17th hole.

Glennon and Chancellor secured the one-shot victory with a final-round 71. The pair was the lone team in the field to card two under-par rounds for the championship.

Three teams finished the championship in a tie for second at 1-under 143: Mary Jane Hiestand/Adrienne MacLean, Gigi Higgins/Susie Keane, and Tara Fleming/Sarah Ingram. The teams of Higgins/Keane and Fleming/Ingram carded a 2-under 70 on Monday, while Hiestand and MacLean posted a final-round 72 to take home a share of second place.

For the second-straight year, Patricia Hughes Gelardi and Ruth Averback took home the victory in the Super-Senior Division with a 10-over 154 for the championship. They began the championship with a first-round 78 to take a one-shot lead over the field into the final round.

Gelardi and Averback secured the five-shot victory with a final-round 76 on Monday, with two birdies from Averback. Lori Collins and Shan Giordano took home the runner-up finish at 15-over 159, while Katherine Moore-Lilly and Mary Ann Modrak finished third at 16-over 160.
