TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida State Golf Association is proud to announce the thirty-two junior golfers named to the 2023 Florida Junior Cup teams. These thirty-two players are divided amongst two teams based on the region they live in the state of Florida: North or South. The tournament is a Ryder Cup style event in which the two teams are pitted against each other for the trophy.
The 17th Florida Junior Cup will be held at the Match Course at PGA National Resort and Spa in Palm Beach Gardens on August 7-8. The aforementioned Ryder Cup style format will be played out as follows: Four-Ball matches take place Monday morning followed by Foursomes in the afternoon. The Singles matches are held on Tuesday morning followed by the trophy presentation.
Each match is worth one point to the team total and the first team to 16 and ½ points wins the Cup for one year. In the event of a 16-16 tie, the defending champion will retain the Cup for an additional year. The South Team had a historic comeback to win last year but the North Team still leads the results at 11-4-1.
