SARASOTA, Fla. – The Florida Junior Tour headed to Sarasota this weekend for the FJT Heritage Oaks Open (16-18). The event had a full field of 84 juniors vying for the title at Heritake Oaks Golf & Country Club. With warm conditions, and fast, undulating greens, the course played firm but fair over the two rounds.
Boys (16-18)
Saturday's first round saw seven players finish in red numbers with Clark Mason leading the way after an opening round of three-under par, 68. Mason would have a roller coaster of a round, making eight birdies, three bogies, and one double bogey. With eleven players within three shots of the lead, the title was still up for grabs heading into the final round.
Sitting two shots back of the lead heading in the final round, Brandon Lohr would have to put together a stellar final round to pick up his first FJT victory. The Orlando native would come out of the gates firing, making birdies on holes three, six, eight, and nine to make the turn at four-under par. A lone bogey on the back nine would give Lohr the clubhouse lead at four-under par for two rounds. Playing in the final group, Clark Mason would make a bogey on the par-three, seventeenth hole to put him one shot back of Lohr. Needing to make a birdie on the eighteenth to force a playoff, Mason would hit his approach shot to about twenty feet, ultimately coming up short. Tying for the low round of the day in the Boys Division, Lohr's final round 68 would be enough to earn his first FJT victory by one shot. Mason would finish runner up at three-under par after rounds of 68-71. Both Lohr and Mason lead the field in birdies, making eleven each. Tying Lohr for the low final round was Emmet Kuhlenkamp with a three-under par, 68. Kuhlenkamp would move ten spots up on the leaderboard in the final round to finish in third place.
Girls (16-18)
Ann-Sophie Bourgault would look to add to her trophy collection by picking up her first FJT victory of the year in Sarasota. Bourgault would come out of the gates firing in on all cylinders in the first round, making four birdies in her opening nine holes. The Quebec native would finish her round at three-under par, 68 after a double bogey on the thirteenth hole followed up by one more birdie on the short par-four, sixteenth hole. Bourgault would finish the day one shot clear of Darby Hancock at two-under par.
There would be no slowing down for Bourgault in the final round. Starting the round on the back nine, the 2026 grad would make birdies on holes fourteen, one, and five to open up an eight shot lead with four holes to play. Adding two more birdies in the closing stretch, Bourgault would dominate the event with rounds of 68-66, 8-under par as a tournament total.
No stranger to the podium, Ana Boone would climb two spots on Sunday to finish in solo second place after scores of 73-71, two-over par. The 2026 grad played consistent golf throughout the weekend, making three birdies offset by only five bogies in her two rounds. In a tie for third place at three-over par was Angela Yiting Wang and Ryan Donaldson.
