Stasi On Path to Defend Title

Meghan Stasi makes cut at US Women's Mid-Amateur Championship

Meghan Stasi, of Oakland Park, is on path this week to defend her title at the US Women's Mid-Amateur, played at Bayville Golf Club in Virginia Beach, VA.  With stroke play rounds of 77-77--154, she begins Round of 64 matches this afternoon against Annette Gaiotti of Holladay, Utah.  Stasi is a three-time Mid-Amateur champion.  Her first victory came in 2006, where she then defended it in 2007.  She hopes to do the same this year to defend and claim her fourth Women's Mid-Am title.

Wendi Golden, of Bradenton, also made the cut with rounds of 77-78--155, and is on her way to Round of 64 matches this afternoon.  Both Stasi and Golden were selected to represent Florida at the US Women's State Team Championship next month in Savannah, GA.
