Serafini Shatters Records at FJT Major

Three winners come out on top memorial day weekend at the FJT major at Orange County National

The Florida Junior Tour headed to Orange County National for the first 54 hole major. This major included the boys 13-15 age division, the girls 16-18 and 13-15 age division.  The weather was hot and the competition was even hotter.

Anton Serafini blew the competition away in the boys 13-15 age division during round one, shooting an 8-under 64 and holding a four stroke leading over Brandon Manchenco and Tyler Strafaci heading into the second round. 

Serafini continued his remarkable play during rounds two and three where he shot a tournament total of -20 (64-65-67- 196). Brandon Mencheno came in second with a 68-71-68-207, and Tyler Strafaci came in third with an impressive 68-72-69-209.

The leader board was crowded in the 16-18 girls age division.  After round one, Courtney Zeng, Emmy Martin, and Cynthia Navis were all tied for first shooting an even par 72.  Courtney continued her consistent play during round two shooting another even par 72 and held a four-stroke lead over Athena Yang, Kendall Griffin, and Emmy Martin headed into the final round.  During the final round, Courtney continued her strong play shooting a two-under 70 and a tournament total of 214 (-2) to take home the hardware.  Athena Yang came in second shooting 74-74-71-219, and Kendall Griffin came in third shooting a 75-73-74-222.

Morgan Baxendale shot a 70-75-77-222 to come from behind to take the girls 13-15 age division.  Brittany Shin came in second shooting a +7 (69-79-75), and Emma Bradley came in third with a 78-72-75-225.
