US Four-Ball Qualifying Complete

U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship

The Inaugural U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be contested at the Pacific Dunes Course at Bandon Dunes Resort, in Bandon, OR, May 9-13, 2015. Florida will be well represented in the 128 women (64 sides) field in May.  The 64 teams will play 36 holes of four-ball stroke play before the field is cut the low 32 teams for the match-play portion of the championship. The first championship received 336 entries, which included 5 exempt sides. Qualifying was conducted at 27 sites across the country between August 25, 2014 and March 30, 2015, including two sites here in Florida.

Starting outside of Florida, last August, four-time U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Champion and five-time FSGA Women's Player of the Year, Meghan Stasi, of Oakland Park earned medalist honors at the Eglin, SC qualifying site, with partner Dawn Woodward, of Greer, SC.

The Wanderer's Club, Wellington - October  28, 2014

The first Florida qualifying site was at The Wanderer's Club, in Wellington, in October.  Five-time FSGA Women's Senior Player of the Year Mary Jane Hiestand, of Naples, teamed up with Tara Joy-Connelly, of Palm Beach Gardens, to earn medalist honors. 2014 Florida Golf Hall of Fame Inductee Taffy Brower, of Boynton Beach, and her partner Kathleen Colliflower, of Rochester, NY, earned the second qualifying position.

The Country Club of Orlando, Orlando - March 23, 2015

The final Florida qualifier was contested at The Country Club of Orlando, in March. Florida Junior Tour Members, 16 year-old Kendall Griffin, of Sebring, and 17 year-old Athena Yang, of Winter Haven, earned Co-Medalist honors with Dani Mullin, of West Islip, NY, and Ellen Oswald, of New City, NY.

U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship

The Inaugural U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship will be contested at The Olympic Club - Lake Course, in San Francisco, CA, May 2-6, 2015. The championship field will have 256 competitors (128 sides) playing 36 holes of four-ball stroke play before the field is cut to the low 64 teams who will the compete in the match play portion of the championship. 2,234 teams entered the inaugural championship, which only included three exempt sides. Qualifying was conducted at 51 sites between August 13, 2014 and March 31, 2015, including three sites here in Florida.

Outside of Florida, Christian Vozza, of Orlando teamed up with Matthew McLaughlin, of Barrington, IL to earn co-medalist honors at the Elgin, IL qualifier last September.

Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, Ocala - November 17, 2014

Matthew Giovanelli and David Griffin, both of Ocala earned medalist honors after firing 65 in challenging conditions. The second qualifying spot went to a team of Florida Junior Tour members, Jacob Huizinga, of Orlando, and William Wrigley, of Winter Garden.

The Fox Club, Palm City - March 23, 2015

Three sides fired 65 to earn co-medalist honors at The Fox Club, however only two advanced to the Championship. 2010 & 2011 FSGA Mid-Amateur Champion, Stephen Anderson, of Hobe Sound, and 2014 FSGA Mid-Senior Champion, R J Nakashian, have teamed up to win numerous Four-Ball Championships at the state and local level and were valuable members of Team Florida in the Southeastern Challenge Match victory in 2010. It was no surprise when the duo punched their ticket to Olympic in the playoff. The team of Daniel Eggertsson, of Royal Palm Beach, and Jason Feng, of Orlando, would take 8 holes to defeat Matthew Marino, of Miami Beach, and Donald Wolfe, of Miami, for the second qualifying spot.

Sara Bay Country Club, Sarasota - March 30, 2015

Brian Keenan, and Paul Royak, both of Tampa would tackle the challenging Donald Ross design to earn medalist honors with 66 (-6). The side of Tee McCabe, of Naples and Jeff Williams, of Saint Cloud would also qualify after firing 67.
