Daniel Jaramillo and Jamie Freedman battled windy conditions to grab first place honors at the Florida Junior Tour's (FJT) LPGA International, in Daytona Beach, March 3-4.
Daniel Jaramillo, of Bradenton, posted a tournament total of two-over par 146 to capture his first career FJT title. Jaramillo fired an impressive first round of two-under par 70, to find himself in a three way tie for the lead heading into the final round. Jaramillo carded a final round of four-over par 76 to win by two strokes. Gabriel Lench, of Lake Mary, and Kyler Tate, of Winter Garden, finished tied for second place with a tournament total of four-over par 148.
In the Girls 13-15 Division, Jamie Freedman, of Miami, went wire-to-wire to claim her second career FJT title. After a first round of five-over par 77, Freedman would hold a two stroke advantage heading into the final round of play. Freedman would post a final round of five-over par 77, for a tournament total of 154, to win by three strokes. Taylor Tomlinson, of Gainesville, finished in second place with a tournament total of 157. Ansley Bowman, of Saint Augustine, finished alone in third place with a tournament total of 158.
