Melson Leads Mid-Senior Championship

Paul Melson fired a score of 68 at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine to lead the Florida State Mid-Senior Championship.  Melson, of Plantation, leads the field after shooting a 4-under par on the Slammer & Squire course. Edward Craig, from Orlando, is one shot back posting a 3-under par 69.  Rick Wolfe, from Fort Lauderdale, Samuel Martinez, of Miami, and Doug Snoap, Apopka, all posted a 2-under par 70 on the Slammer & Squire Golf Course. Rick Luzar, of Melbourne, and Ed McFee, from Orlando, both shot rounds of 70 on the King & Bear Course.   

To be eligible for the Mid-Senior Championship, players must be age 40 or older. The Championship is 54 holes of stroke play cut to the low 70 plus ties after 36 holes. Rounds one and two will be played on the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire courses with the final round on the King & Bear course.
