Hume & Gosse Defend Title

Defending Champions, Tim Hume and Kelly Gosse, came from behind with an impressive second round of 64 to win at Pensacola Country Club. Hume, of Crystal River, and Gosse, of Inverness, carded rounds of 69-64 for a tournament total 133 (-11) and a two stroke victory! Round one leaders, Blake Hayward/Jeff Blomeley, fell to second place after a second round 69. The team from Tallahassee, Hayward and Blomeley, carded rounds of 66-69 for a 135 (-9) total and second place finish by two strokes. Rounding out the top three, teammates David Penzone and Bruce Holliday, posted rounds of 67-70 for a 137 (-7) total.

The Mid-Senior Four-Ball is the perfect opportunity for a golfing getaway with a friend. It consists of two days of four-ball competition at the immaculate Pensacola Country Club. The classic course, established just after the turn of the 20th century, was awarded the renovation of the year by Golf Inc. Championship Format

  • 48 teams; 96 players
  • 36 holes of four-ball stroke play

What is a Four-Ball? - A four-ball is a two person team where the low score of the two players on each hole is counted. It is commonly referred to as a best ball.

Eligibility 

  • Male amateur golfers
  • At least 40 years of age as of the first day of the Championship
  • Both entrants are required to be members of the FSGA

Entry Fee

  • $310 per team - GHIN Members or Foundation Member
  • $330 per team - Non-GHIN Members

Late entries will be accepted subject to a $10 late entry fee should the entrant gain acceptance into the field

 Entry Priority

Entries will be accepted based upon the order of receipt. Entries received after the competitive field is full or after the close of entries, will be placed on an alternates list. Alternates will be contacted in
the order of receipt of entry, if and when, a spot becomes available.

Schedule of Events 

Saturday, September 10th
  • 8:00 AM - 9:50 AM - Round One tee times off of 1st tee
Sunday, September 11th
  • 8:00 AM - 9:50 AM - Final Round tee times off of 1st tee
  • Awards ceremony immediately following the completion of play

Course Set-Up

The golf course will be set-up at approximately 6,600-6,700 yards.

Flights

After 18 holes. The number of flights will be based on the number of teams and/or the range of scores.

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available one week prior to the championship. Practice rounds may be played after 12:00 PM on the weekend. The price for your practice round is $35.00 + tax. Please call (850) 455-1488 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.

Carts

Carts are included for all competitive rounds. Players are responsible for practice round fees.

Defending Champions 

Partners Kelly Gosse and Time Hume completed a sweep of the Mid-Amateur and Mid-Senior Four-Ball North Championships.  Gosse and Hume, from Inverness and Crystal River respectively, shot a tournament total 130 to win the Championship.
