Bird & Gould Capture Mid-Am 4-Ball North
Chuck Gould and Bobby Bird captured the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North Championship at Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, in Ocala to succesfully defend their title.
The duo from Vero Beach, Bobby Bird and Chuck Gould prevailed in a playoff to win their second Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championship. In the first round the pair fired a round of seven-under par 65 which put them two strokes behind the lead group of Don Whittemore, of Temple Terrace, and Doug LaCrosse, of Tampa. In the final round, Bird and Gould played another solid round of golf, posting a six-under par round of 66 to put them tied for the lead with Daniel Owen and Brent Dorman, both of Ocala. The pair won in the first play off hole with a tournament total of 13-under par 131.

Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club boasts a picturesque 18-hole, Ron Garl-designed course, incorporating eight masterfully recreated tribute holes from some of the world's finest golf courses. Course offers a 10-acre short game area, two practice holes and driving range.
Male amateurs must be age 40 or older as of September 29, 2012, and both entrants must be members of the FSGA.
$310 ($330 - members who do not have an active FSGA/GHIN Handicap).
36 holes of four-ball stroke play. The lowest team score for 36 holes will be the Champion. If necessary, there will be a hole by hole play-off to determine the champion. It is the player's responsibility to be present for any play-off.
Championship Field Size
48 teams; 96 players
The golf course will be set-up approximately 6600-6800 yards.
After 18 holes. The number of flights will be based on the number of teams and/or the range of scores.
Round one and two tee times will begin at 8:00 AM off the 1st and 10th tees.
Practice rounds are available one week prior to the championship. Practice rounds may be played after 12:00 PM on the weekend. The price for your practice round is $30.00 + tax. Please call (352) 671-3933 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.
Carts are included for all competitive rounds. Players are responsible for practice round fees.
Bobby Bird and Chuck Gould won the North title at the Sugar Mill Country Club with scores of 61-68--129.

Spectators and Caddies
Spectators and caddies are always welcome at FSGA Championships. Only players are allowed to ride in carts. If a player employs a caddie, the caddie MUST walk and the player's clubs must remain on the golf cart.
The FSGA Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions, provisions and/or schedules. The decision of the Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.
