2018 Women's Senior Player of the Year 

A two-time winner this year, Hiestand was named the Senior Amateur Player of the Year for the second year in a row and the seventh time in the last nine years. Hiestand advanced to the Round of 16 at the Ione Jones/Doherty Senior Championship to begin her 2018 season. She kicked off her FSGA Championship schedule with a tied for fifth finish at the Women’s International Four-Ball with partner Judith Kyrinis. A month later, she posted another top-10 finish at the Women’s Four-Ball Championship with Marie Arnoux. The Naples native captured her fourth Women’s Senior Amateur Championship in April, posting a four-over 148 at Country Club of Ocala. She finished five strokes ahead of runner-up Lisa Schlesinger. Hiestand garnered another top-five finish at the Women’s Mid-Amateur, finishing third. In August, Hiestand won her first Florida Senior Women’s Open Championship. The championship was decided by a sudden-death play-off between Hiestand, Kim Keyer-Scott and Susan Bond. Hiestand and Keyer-Scott both pared the 14th hole to advance in the play-off. Hiestand would come out on top with a birdie on the fourth play-off hole. Hiestand also competed in the inaugural U.S. Senior Women’s Open Championship at the Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois. She was one of 29 amateurs to compete in the championship. Hiestand competed in two other USGA Championships: U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur and the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur. Her best finish came at the U.S. Senior Women’s Am, where she advanced to the Round of 16.

2017 Women's Senior Player of the Year

Fresh off of the plane as the Runner-Up at the US Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, Mary Jane Hiestand, of Naples, claims her sixth Senior Women’s Player of the Year title. Hiestand made her way to the Quarterfinals of the US Women’s Mid-Amateur by defeating her opponent 5&3 in the Round of 64, winning 1 up in the Round of 32 and making an impressive comeback in the Round of 16 against 4-time Champion and 2017 Player of the Year, Meghan Stasi. She didn't stop there, winning her Quarterfinal match in 19 holes and then sinking a 48' birdie putt on the 19th hole to earn her spot in the finals. After a long week of golf, Hiestand pushed her way through the final match, ultimately finishing Runner-Up to Kelsey Chugg, 3&1. Earlier this fall, Hiestand competed in another national championship, making it to match play in the US Senior Women’s Amateur Championship. Along with a top five finish at the Inaugural Florida Women’s Senior Open, Mary Jane finished tied for sixth at the Senior Amateur, and tied for fifth in the Florida and International Four-Ball Championships. Hiestand added another trophy to her case this past December, capturing her second Women’s Senior Match Play Championship.

2014 Women's Senior Player of the Year

Mary Jane Hiestand, of Naples, claimed her fifth Senior Women’s Player of the Year honors with 11,020 points. Hiestand garnered first place honors at the Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club in Ocala. She later finished in the top five in three championships beginning with a third place finish in the Women’s International Four-Ball, followed by fourth in the Women’s Four-Ball Championship, and second in the Women’s Senior North and South Championship. Capping off her season, Hiestand advanced to the Round of 32 matches in the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.

2013 Women's Senior Player of the Year

Mary Jane Hiestand, of Naples, is the 2013 Senior Women’s Player of the Year for the fourth year in a row earning 17,380 overall points. Hiestand had a fantastic year, which she started off by claiming the championship title at the Women’s Senior Am-ateur at Worthington Country Club. With a victory under her belt, she continued on by finishing as a quarterfinalist in the Ione Jones/Doherty Senior Championship and making it to the round of 32 at the 84th Florida Women’s Amateur Championship. With partner Diane Lang, Hiestand claimed second place at the Florida Women’s Four-Ball Championship and third place at the Women’s International Four-Ball Championship. Mary Jane has also been successful in USGA championships, qualify-ing for the United States Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship and making it all the way to the semifinals in the U.S. Women’s Senior Amateur Championship. Hies-tand also helped the South team claim victory at the Inaugural Women’s Florida Cup.

2012 Women's Senior Player of the Year

Mary Jane Hiestand, of Naples, is the 2012 Senior Women’s Player-of-the-Year earning 8,960 overall points.  Hiestand has had a fantastic year, advancing to quarter-finals at the Ione Jones/Doherty Championship (Senior Division) and finished third at the Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.  Also, she and Diane Lang placed fourth at the Women’s Four-Ball Stroke Play.  Hiestand dominated in team play, having an undefeated year at both the Women’s Southeastern Challenge Matches and SWATCA, where she led both teams to championship titles.  Mary Jane has also been successful in USGA championships, advancing to Round of 32 matches at both the 2012 US Senior Women’s Amateur and the US Women’s Mid-Amateur Championships.   

2011 Women's Senior Player of the Year

Mary Jane Hiestand, of Naples, won the prestigious Ione Jones/Doherty Senior Amateur Championship.   She finished second in the Women’s Senior, had a top 10 finish in the Women’s Stroke Play, and made it to the round of 16 at the Women’s State Amateur Match Play.   Mary Jane was selected to represent the State of Florida on both the FL/GA and SWATCA teams, and she qualified, and eventually made it to USGA Women’s Senior Amateur Championship.
