Jim Demick joined the FSGA in 1997 as the Executive Director. During 24 years as Executive Director, Jim led a team of amazing volunteers and staff members in building the largest golf association in the country. He is a native Floridian, who grew up in Delray Beach in a family of golfers, and he played in his first golf tournament at the age of 6 at the Delray Beach Golf Club. Prior to college, Jim worked as a caddie, a bag room assistant, and as a member of the golf course maintenance staff. He was an accomplished junior player and is a lifelong amateur. Jim attend the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's degree in Tax Accounting, After graduation, he practiced as a CPA with Price Waterhouse in Atlanta, and was subsequently a real estate developer and the Chief Operating Officer of a commercial real estate investment firm.
In 1987, Jim married Gigi Wynne of Connecticut, and they have two children, Kate and Paul. He is a past president of the International Association of Golf Administrators and is the Chairman of the Florida Junior Golf Council, which provides more than $750,000 each year to junior golf programs in Florida.
Jim enjoys playing golf and loves visiting the mountains of North Carolina with his family.
