About Trish England

Trish England attended a one-day Golf Rules Seminar in 2017, and given the opportunity, she decided that volunteering through FSGA would be a great way to give back to a game that had given her so much.  Trish began golfing at an early age with her mother.  It was one of many family “leisure” activities she shared with her father, mother, brothers, and sister.  As she got older, she continued to play golf with friends.  She graduated from Florida State University with her Bachelor's and Master's in Science.  After retiring from 26 years of service with the Florida Highway Patrol, she moved to The Villages in 2012, where golf became an even larger portion of her life.

It seemed that Trish never met a stranger.  So naturally, Trish loved volunteering, especially at Junior Tour events, where, as a starter, she could meet and encourage young players, and their families. She loved catching up each year on how the players and their families were doing.  She was proud of achieving Advanced Rules certification through the USGA, and loved participating in rules discussions through the Florida Rules of Golf Group (FROGG) meetings.  Trish volunteered at over 70 FSGA events, where players often commented that only Trish could make learning the rules of golf seem like fun!  Serving as a volunteer with the FSGA brought a lot of joy to Trish’s life, and she shared that right back with her fellow volunteers and players at FSGA and USGA qualifying events.  In April 2025, golf certainly lost a great friend with Trish’s passing.
