Strafaci and Yin Battle Back at Quail Ridge

Tyler Strafaci of Davie battled through multiple weather delays and a four-shot deficit heading into Sunday's final round.  Like most of the field, Tyler had to finish his first round on Sunday morning due to Saturday's inclement weather.  David Gao held a solid lead after the first round with a four under par 69.  Tyler came back with a 67 in the final round with an even par 36 on the front, but then caught fire on the back nine making birdies on holes 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16.  Strafaci's rounds of 73-67--140 was good enough to win his third FJT event of 2013 by one shot.  Jacob Huizinga and Charlie Kennerly tied for second with a two day total of 141.

Yuanru Yin of China claimed her second straight FJT tournament win at Quail Ridge.  Like Tyler, Yuanru battled through the delays and a deficit heading into her final round.  Kendall Griffin led by two with an opening round of 70.  Yuanru fired back in her final round with an opening first nine of 32 (started on hole 10), with birdies on 10, 12, 16, and 18.  She added birdies on the final par 3's, holes 3 and 6, to seal the deal.  Yuanru's rounds of 72-66--138 gave her a four stroke victory.  Griffin finished second with a two day total of 142.

Final round pairings will be available approximately one-hour after the final score has been posted. Pairings will be available on the website, at the club, and will be sent via text message. It is the player's responsibility to be at his/her respective starting tee at least 10 minutes prior to teeing off. We recommend that you always see your tee time in black and white (in print), and if you still have questions, please contact an FSGA Official at the host facility.

Rules

USGA Rules of Golf will govern play. Review the FSGA Hard Card and Pace of Play Policy. The Notice to Players (local rules and hole locations) will be distributed on the starting tee.

Range Finders - Electronic distance measuring devices are allowed. (effective December 1st, 2012)

Music - Phones and other devices that play music should not be used at the tournament site.  Listening to music during a competitive round will generally result in disqualification under the Rules of Golf.  This is true for all types of competitions - not just FJT (new Rule in 2012).

Pace of Play

The FJT uses a checkpoint pace of play policy that provides no verbal warnings throughout the round. Each group is responsible for playing under the allotted time or finishing each checkpoint hole within 15 minutes of the group ahead of them.

Pace of play will be strictly enforced with anticipated rounds to be less than 4 hours and 45 minutes. We strongly recommend that all players and parents read and understand the Pace of Play Policy.
