Stone, Yu, & Giandomenico Capture FJT Titles

The Florida Junior Tour event at Viera East Country Club wrapped up today with three winners.

Despite the two-hour weather delay, Yuanru Yin from Houston, Texas was able to pull away from the rest of the field, making birdie after birdie.  Yin birdied holes 1, 5, 10, 11, and 12.  Her rounds of 72-75-147 gave her a three-stroke victory over Kendall Griffin in the girls 13-15 age division.

In the Girls 16-18 age division, 11-year-old Latana Stone captured her first FJT victory for 2013.  Stone shot an incredible first day round of 69 and had a two-stroke lead over Athena Yang going into round two.  During the final round, Stone struggled on her front nine shooting a four-over par 40. Ansley Bowman shot a first round 74 and made an impressive charge, which included an eagle on hole 5.  However, Bowman’s final round of 72 would not be enough.  Stone responded with a back nine 36 that proved good enough for a 1-stroke victory over Bowman.

In the Boys 13-15 age division, David Giandomenico triumphed, shooting rounds of 71-74-145.  Giandomenico was able to pull off a one-shot victory over Terrence Zhang, Austin Hitt and Andrew Kozan. Giandomenico made four birdies during his final round on holes 11, 13, 17, and 3.

Ella Woods had a hole-in-one on hole 13 during the first round.

It is the player's responsibility to be at his/her respective starting tee at least 10 minutes prior to teeing off. Rules

USGA Rules of Golf will govern play. Review the FSGA Hard Card and Pace of Play Policy. The Notice to Players (local rules and hole locations) will be distributed on the starting tee.

Range Finders - Electronic distance measuring devices are allowed. (effective December 1st, 2012)

Music - Phones and other devices that play music should not be used at the tournament site.  Listening to music during a competitive round will generally result in disqualification under the Rules of Golf.  This is true for all types of competitions - not just FJT (new Rule in 2012).

Pace of Play

The FJT uses a checkpoint pace of play policy that provides no verbal warnings throughout the round. Each group is responsible for playing under the allotted time or finishing each checkpoint hole within 15 minutes of the group ahead of them.

Pace of play will be strictly enforced with anticipated rounds to be less than 4 hours and 45 minutes. We strongly recommend that all players and parents read and understand the Pace of Play Policy.
