Mid-Senior Four-Ball North

Victoria Hills Golf Club - DeLand

September 14-15, 2013

Hudgens and Ibbotson Win the North

In the North Four-Ball Championship, Thad Hudgens, of Longwood, and Chad Ibbotson, of Sanford, made a second round charge to claim the hardware at Victoria Hills Golf Club in DeLand.  In the first round, the pair fired a four-under 68 which put them in a six-way tie for fifth.

In the final round, the duo put on a birdie expo where they shot a solid eight-under 64.  Hudgen’s and Ibbotson’s superb final round was good enough to push them up to the top of the leader board and allowed them to claim the title with a two round total 68-64-132.  Philip Meng and Dennis Postlewait, of Orlando, finished two-strokes behind to claim second place with a tournament total of 66-68-134.

Also in the North, Bob Bechtol, from Tallahassee, made a hole-in-one during the final round on the 210-yard, fourteenth hole.

The Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championships consist of 36 holes of four-ball stroke play. In four-ball stroke play, two competitors play as partners, each playing their own ball. The lower score of the partners is the score for the hole. To be eligible, players must be 40 years of age or older and members of the FSGA.
