• Round 1 - Overcast throughout the day with passing rain sprinkles. Little to no wind with temperatures in the mid 80s.
• Round 2 - Very similar conditions to Saturday. Light winds led to great scoring conditions. Temperatures in the upper 80s.

Recap

Christopher Carlin and Christopher O'Connor jumped out to an early lead on Saturday after posting an opening round 8 under-par, 64. Their bogey free round was enough to give them a two stroke lead over partners Rick Woulfe and Ben Finely as well as Les Logsdon and Rokki Rogan. There were also another six teams only three strokes off the lead after they all had opening round scores of 5 under-par, 67. It did not take long on Sunday for Carlin and O'Connor to make their first birdie as they poured one in on the opening hole of the final round. Fellow-competitors Ben Finley and Rick Woulfe were undeterred by the early birdie and were able to erase the two stroke deficit they faced after making four straight birdies on holes 4 thru 7. On the final nine holes of the event, Carlin and O'Connor were able to hold off the rest of the field closing with a back nine score of 3 under-par, 33. Their two round total, 14 under-par, 130, was enough to give them a two stroke victory over three teams (Daniel Eggertsson/Ben Adelberg, Donald Wolfe III and Matthew Marino, and Rick Woulfe and Ben Finley). This is Carlin's third State Championship victory in the last two years!

The Mid-Amateur Four-Ball is the perfect opportunity for a golfing getaway to the Naples area, where you will be challenged by Bear's Paw Country Club. Championship Format

• 36 holes of gross four-ball stroke play (no handicaps)
• 48 teams; 96 players
• The lowest team score for 36 holes will be the Champion

What is a Four-Ball? - A four-ball is a two person team where the low score of the two players on each hole is counted. It is commonly referred to as a best ball.

Eligibility 

• Male amateur golfers
• At least 25 years of age as of the first day of the Championship
• Both entrants are required to be a member of the FSGA

Entry Fee

• $320 per team GHIN or Foundation Members
• $340 per team Non-GHIN

Late entries will be accepted subject to a $10 late entry fee should the entrant gain acceptance into the field.

Entry Priority

Entries will be accepted based upon the order of receipt. Entries received after the competitive field is full or after the close of
entries, will be placed on an alternates list. Alternates will be contacted in the order of receipt of entry, if and when, a spot becomes available.

Course Set-Up

The golf course will be set-up at approximately 6,800 yards.

Saturday, June 3rd

• 8:00 AM - 9:50 AM - Round One tee times off of #1 and #10

Sunday, June 4th

• 8:00 AM - 9:50 - Round Two tee times off of #1 and #10
• Awards ceremony immediately following the completion of play

Flighting

After 18 holes, the number of flights will be based on the number of teams and the range of scores.

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available one week prior to the event. The price for a practice round is $35.00 + tax per player.  Please call (239) 262-1836 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.

Carts

Carts are included for all competitive rounds. Players are responsible for practice round fees.

Defending Champions

Stephen Anderson and R J Naskashian defended their title and captured the 2016 Mid-Amateur Four-Ball (South) Championship for the second year in a row.  The two posted an outstanding 130 (-14) total to win by one stroke over Carl Santos-Ocampo and Marc France.
