Comstock & Yang Battle High Winds in Vero

Jack Comstock and Athena Yang grabbed first place honors at the Florida Junior Tour’s (FJT) 13-15 age division event at The Club at Pointe West, in Vero Beach, November 12-13.

Jack Comstock, of Jacksonville, fired a final round two-under par 70, to capture his third career FJT title. In the first round, Comstock posted a one-under par of round of 71, to share the lead with two others heading into the final round of play.  Comstock’s final round of two-under par 70 was the low round of the tournament and good enough for a one stroke victory.  Jalen Ledger, of Palm Beach Gardens, posted rounds of 71-71 for a tournament total of two-under par 142 to grab second place honors. Travis Trace, of Jacksonville, finished in third place with a tournament total of even par 144.

In the Girls 13-15 Division, Athena Yang, of Winter Haven, went wire-to-wire for her second victory of the season. In the first round Yang posted a one-over par round of 73 to lead by one heading into the final round. Yang continued her solid play in the final round to post a three-over par 75 to secure the victory by four shots.  Latanna Stone, of Valrico, finished in second place after rounds of 74-78 for a tournament total of 152.  Emily Uhland, of Jacksonville, finished alone in third place with a tournament total of 158.
