Parker & Snoap Claim North Title

Robert Parker and Doug Snoap secured the North title on the first playoff hole at Halifax Plantation Golf Club in Ormond Beach on June 2-3.  

Battling windy conditions, Robert Parker, from Sanford, and Doug Snoap, of Apopka, claimed the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North Championship on the first playoff hole. Playing all 36 holes on Sunday due to bad weather, Parker and Snoap turned in a 67 for the first 18 holes. The pair recorded a 68 on the final 18 holes for a 135 total forcing a playoff with Steve Albright and Brent Dorman. On the first playoff hole, Snoap made birdie to secure the title. Snoap won this Championship in 2005 with Curtis Madson while Parker is a two-time Public Links Champion. The Ocala pair of Albright and Dorman posted rounds of 69-66 for second place.

ELIGIBILITY

Must be age 25 or older as of June 2, 2007. Both entrants must also be members of the FSGA.

ENTRY FEE

$320 ($340 - members who do not have an active FSGA/GHIN Handicap).

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT

36 holes four-ball stroke play.

FLIGHTS

After 18 holes. The number of flights will be based on the number of teams and/or the range of scores.

CARTS

Players are responsible for practice round cart fees.

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS

The Ocala pair of Judd Davis and Daniel Owen won the North title at Haile Plantation in Gainesville in 2006.
