Championship Format

Five Nine-Hole Net Matches will be played for all Flights. Three Nine-Hole Matches will be played on Saturday, followed by two Nine-Hole Matches on Sunday.  One (1) point will be awarded for each hole won, and for the overall nine-hole match winner.  Half-points will be given for hole ties and an overall match tie. There will be no "accelerator point" given for winning multiple matches in-a-row, as this point system is not recognized by the USGA or the FSGA.

Teams will have the option of selecting which flight and yardage they would like to play. Flights will be comprised of six (6) teams with the same or similar combined handicap indexes.  Strokes will be given based on lowest handicapped player in each match.

Middle Division - Approx. 5,500 yards (Net)
Forward Division
- Approx. 5,000 yards (Net)

Strokes will be given based off of the lowest player's handicap in each match.  The low handicap player will be playing scratch and will not be receiving any strokes; the strokes that will be received by the other three players will be based off of this low handicap of the group.

In the case of a tie for any flight winner, the Committee will revert back to the original “head-to-head” match result between the two teams that are tied.  The winner of that individual match will be the overall flight winner.  In the case that the two teams are still tied after this procedure, the Committee will revert to the next highest seeded team in the flight and compare how each team competed against that team; the highest point total for this individual match is the winner.

Championship Field Size

48 teams; 96 players

Divisions

Middle Division - 5,500 yards (approximately)
Forward Division - 5,000 yards (approximately)

The Championship Committee reserves the right to move any player out of the Forward Division if her handicap is significantly lower than the majority of the competitors in the division, and her scoring history does not reflect the need to play from the Forward Division yardage.  Players will then be placed into the Middle Division.

Handicap Requirements

Each player must have a Florida USGA GHIN Handicap no higher than 34.0.  The handicap differential between partners may be no more than eight (8) strokes.  If the differential is more than eight (8) strokes, the higher handicap will be reduced to allow for the difference. The valid USGA Handicap Indexes used will be from the September 1, 2013 revision.

Flights

Flights will be determined by the updated, combined USGA GHIN Handicap Indexes of the team.  Flights will be comprised of six (6) teams with the same or similar combined handicap indexes.  Strokes will be given based on lowest handicapped player in each match.

Tee Times

Both day 1 and day 2 will consist of an 8:00 AM shotgun start.
