U.S. Open Championship

Streamsong's Black Course has some very large and unique putting greens. When the course was originally designed the greens were much smaller (approximately where the sprinkler heads are located). After some time, they began mowing all of the mini-verde grass to putting green height, making the putting greens much larger than they originally were. The yardage books show the original smaller green sizes. For the qualifier, the putting greens are defined as the entire area of grass mown to the height of the putting greens.

Since the putting greens are much larger than they were originally measured at, it creates a challenge to measure the hole locations from the "front of the green." Instead of measuring the green depths and giving players hole location sheets showing how many yards each hole is cut from the front edge, we are finding the center of the green and giving players a +/- from the center of the green and the yards to the closest edge of the green perpendicular to the line of play.

Each green will have a painted blue dot in the center of the green (where the yardages on the sprinkler heads are measured to). The hole locations for the qualifying rounds will be dotted on Saturday, June 1st so all players may see the location of the holes and caddies can do any additional measuring.

Hole #13 - We plan on using the left green making the right green a "wrong green."

The Gauntlet Putting Course - The large practice putting green adjacent to the clubhouse is mowed with different mowers and is a slightly slower speed than the course, however; on Monday, June 3rd it will be mowed with walk-mowers so it will be the same speed as the course.
