Memorandum to Contestants

 

On behalf of the FSGA, congratulations on being accepted to the Junior Match Play Championship.  We hope that you enjoy your experience competing at a State Championship and take many favorable memories from your time at Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club.

 

Please take time to carefully read through this information.  There are several important pieces of information contained here, some of which require action by you, by a certain time (e.g. hotel reservations, practice rounds, etc.).  If you have any questions please contact the FSGA Championship Department at (813) 632-3742 or championships@fsga.org.      

 

Course Assignment

Boys 13-15 and Girls 13-18 divisions play Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club for all rounds.

 

Championship Format

Monday, July 27th

18-hole seeding round. All players must return an 18-hole score.

Players will be placed in brackets based on their seeding round score.

 

Boys 13-15 Division

·         Championship bracket - Low 16 scores from the seeding round

o   A playoff will be held immediately after the seeding round to determine the low 16 players if necessary.

·         Byron Nelson bracket – The next 16 low scores from the seeding round

 

Girls 13-18 Division

·         Championship bracket - Low 16 scores from the seeding round. The top seeds may have bye in the first round of matches.

 

All ties for seeds within brackets will be determined randomly.

The number of players per bracket may change due to the number of entries received per division.

 

Tuesday, July 28th

First and second round of matches.

·         All players play a match in the morning. Half of the field will be eliminated.

·         Winners of the first round matches will play the second round of matches that afternoon.

o   Afternoon starting times will be posted on the scoreboard. Players will have approximately 30 minutes between their first and second round matches.

o   Half of the remaining field will be eliminated.

 

Wednesday, July 29th

Third round of matches for all brackets.

·         All remaining players play their third round of matches in the morning.

 

Thursday, July 30th  

Final round of matches for all brackets.

The final matches will begin in the morning and will be an 18-hole match to determine the Champion.

 

In the event of a tied match, (a) the winner will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole playoff starting on the 1st hole and (b) the stipulated round is deemed to extend to as many holes as are required for a match to be won.

 

The schedule of matches may be modified based on bracket sizes and weather forecasts.

 

Tee times & Groupings

Tee times and pairings groups for the seeding round will be arranged and posted on the FSGA website at www.fsga.org.

 

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available one week prior to the event.  Practice rounds will be restricted to after 12:00 PM. Call 239-774-2202 to make your tee time. 

 

The cost of the practice round is $25 plus tax. Starting times for your practice round can be arranged by calling the club three (3) days in advance. One parent may play for $40 plus tax.

 

Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club

The Membership and Management at Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club would like all of you to enjoy your experience during the Junior Match Play Championship. All players and parents must abide by the club’s policies.

 

·         Gentlemen are prohibited from wearing their hats while in the club house.

·         All players and parents must wear golf attire with shirts tucked in. No jeans, t-shirts, or flip-flops.

 

Dress Codes

Gentlemen are required to have shirts tucked in and hats worn properly while on the golf course.

 

Remember that you are guests of Eagle Creek. Entries are subject to rejection or withdrawal at any time (including during the event). The reason for rejection may include improper attire and/or unbecoming conduct.

Accommodations
Accommodations have been at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples for a special discounted rate of $139.00 per night plus tax. Call 1-888-856-2164 to make reservations and identify yourself as part of the Florida State Golf Association group.

Caddies

Caddies are not permitted.

 

Spectator Carts

Spectators may rent a cart for $25 plus tax per day. Spectator carts are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and the number of carts available may be limited.

 

Registration

There will be a registration table prior to the seeding round. All contestants are requested to check in. You will receive a tee gift and tournament information at the registration table.

 

Charges

Eagle Creek accepts cash, Visa and MasterCard.
