Boy's Division -

After the first round, Stewart Slayden, of Ponte Vedra Beach claimed the solo lead with an impressive round of seven under-par, 65. With a four stroke lead over Nicklas Staub and Frankie Harris, it was going to be a fight for a comeback during Sunday's final round. Paired with Staub and Harris, Stewart had a more difficult time than in his first round and finished his second round with a three over-par round of 75 that would leave him in a tie for second place. Frankie Harris, who last month finished in a tie for second at the Florida Junior Tour event at Sugar Mill Country Club, backed up his first round, 69, with a second round of one under-par, 71 to tie Slayden for another runner-up finish. After sitting four back coming into the final round, local standout Nicklas Staub got the job done after firing two under-par, 70, Sunday to finish the event just one shot ahead of Slayden and Harris. With heavy showers sweeping in for the finishing holes, Staub kept his game together and finished strong to win his first Florida Junior Tour event.

Girl's Division

In the Girl's Division, it was Florida Junior Tour teammates, Taylor Roberts & Jacqueline Putrino who were tied after day one at Quail Ridge. After both shooting a one over-par round of 73, Roberts and Putrino found themselves entering the final round tied and both just one stroke ahead of Aaron Whitley, of Sarasota. With a clumpy leaderboard and anyone's tournament, it was a battle to the finish. When the heavy rain rolled in, the leaders were on their final couple holes. Once the rain came coming down, it was a race to the finish. First round co-leader, Jacqueline Putrino, shot a final round, 77, to finish in a tie for second place. Tori Bien made a comeback and charge up the leaderboard Sunday after posting a final round, 72 to move into a tie for second with Putrino. After battling through the weather, Taylor Roberts finished with an even-par, 72, to extend her incredible 2017 season. Roberts shot a two-day total of one over-par, 145 to clinch the tournament by five strokes.
