Shaw and Kutz Crowned Champions
Sawyer Shaw and Alessandra Kutz battled tough conditions to capture their respective titles at the Florida Junior Tour’s (FJT) event at Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach, December 19-20.
Sawyer Shaw, of West Palm Beach, started the event with a four-over par 76, battling through sustained winds of over 25 mph. Shaw carded the only under par round of the tournament for the boys division with a final round one under par 71, for a tournament total of 3-over par 147 total, giving Shaw a three stroke victory. Shaw’s incredible season continued Sunday by winning his fourth event in a row. Shaw has yet to finish outside the top four in his first eight events of the season. Anthony Scaolapio, of Ponte Vedra Beach, grabbed second place honors by firing a final round two over par 74, for a tournament total of 150. Wade Chen, of Orlando finished in third place with a tournament total of 153.
Alessandra Kutz, of Sanford, jumped to an early lead in the Girls Division, shooting a 78 in the first round. In the final round Kutz fired a three under par 69, for the round of the tournament and a dominating thirteen stroke victory. This is Kutz’s first career FJT victory. Finishing tied for second, with rounds of 83-77, was Ashley Holder, of Orlando and Lucy Robson, of Stuart with rounds of 81-79 and a tournament total of 160.
All play is scheduled on the Dunes Course
Sandridge Golf Club, owned and operated by Indian River County. Sandridge Golf Club offers two 18 hole championship layouts designed by Ron Garl, the Dunes course which opened in April 1987 and the Lakes course which opened in December 1992. With an island green on the front nine to rolling hills on the back nine, the Dunes course winds around an old ridge that runs up the East Coast of Florida that was once used for mining operations. The Lakes course features one of the toughest holes in all of South Florida, the par 4 14th with an island green

Male or female amateur golfers that are members of the FJT may apply for participation. Entries are subject to rejection at any time, including during the event by the FJT. The reason for rejection may include unbecoming behavior. Please see the Code of Conduct for further details.
- Tournament applications must be submitted on-line at www.floridajuniortour.org. Telephone and fax requests will not be accepted.
- Applicants must be current FJT members.
- Entries must be received by 4:30:00 PM EST of the closing date.
- Players should read the Tournament Policies and Pace of Play policy.
- Players will receive an e-mail that their entry has been received and a second e-mail will be sent if the player is accepted into the field. As a player is not automatically confirmed into the tournament, travel arrangements should not be made until the second confirmation e-mail is received. - Players with an unused FJT exemption will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Players without an FJT exemption are automatically placed in a random draw. The random draw is held after the entry deadline.

The entry fee of $95 (for GHIN members) or $115 (for non GHIN members) includes tournament rounds of golf, range balls prior to the tournament rounds and a tee prize.
Schedule of Play
Saturday, December 19th: 9:30 PM -11:45 AM off the 1st tee
Sunday, December 20th: 7:30 AM - 9:45 AM off the 1st tee
Players can set up a practice round at a special discounted rate of $30 plus tax by calling 772-770-5003. Times are available one week prior to the event and after 12:00 PM on weekends on a space available basis.
Walking is allowed after 2:00 PM for a $1.00 junior rate.
Must be 18 years old to rent a cart.
Walking and Pull Carts
Players must walk and carry their clubs during the competition rounds. Pull carts are permitted. Caddies are not permitted.
Tees To Play
Tees are not set until the tournament staff arrives on site. Tournament set up can change, including yardages, to offset inclement weather or other course conditions (i.e. wet course conditions). Typical yardages are below:
- Boys 13-15 will play approximately 6,700 yards
- Girls 13-15 will play approximately 5,800 yards

Registration will be available prior to the first round. ALL players are expected to register. General tournament information will be distributed at registration.
Tee Times & Pairings
First round tee times and pairings will be available on the FJT website, www.floridajuniortour.org. After the completion of the first round all competitors will be repaired by score within their age group for their next round. Final round pairings will be available approximately one hour after the final score has been posted. Pairings will be posted to the FJT website and at the club. It is the players' responsibility to be at his/her respective tee at least 10 minutes prior to teeing off. We recommend that you always see your tee time in black and white and if you still have questions, please contact a FJT Official at the host facility.
Pace of Play
Pace of play will be strictly enforced with anticipated rounds less than 4 hours and 30 minutes. We strongly recommend that all players read and understand the FJT Pace of Play policy.
Spectators will be authorized to rent carts, but must follow the Spectator policies. Spectator carts will cost $20 plus tax per day. Spectator carts may be limited and are available on a first-come, first served basis.
