Match play is the oldest and most exciting format in golf, a format that is not commonly used in this day and age. The Junior Match Play allows juniors a chance to experience match play competition and put their skills to the ultimate test. The 2015 Junior Match Play will be held at the classic Oceanside Country Club in Ormond Beach. For a look at the 2015 Championship Results click here.
Championship Format
- 36-hole stroke play prior to match play
- Maximum 84 player field size
- Stroke play portion ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard
- Low 32 scores advance to match play
- Players ride in carts for all rounds
Eligibility
- Male amateur golfer
- Florida Resident
- 16-18 years of age as of the last day of the Championship
- Entrant is not required to be a member of the FSGA
- All players must compete in the Age Division commensurate with their age as of the last day of the Championship - No players are allowed to play out of their Age Division
- Entrant must not have reached their 19th birthday as of the last day of the Championship and not attending college if graduated from high school. See exception here.
Entry Fee
- $110 GHIN Members or Foundation Member
- $120 Non-GHIN Members
Late entries are subject to a $10 late entry fee should the entrant gain acceptance into the field.
Entry Priority
Entries will be accepted based upon the order of receipt. Entries received after the competitive field is full or after the close of entries, will be placed on an alternates list. Alternates will be contacted in the order of receipt of entry, if and when, a spot becomes available.

8:00 AM Shotgun: 2nd 18-hole seeding round

Players will be placed in brackets and seeded based on their seeding rounds score. A playoff will be held immediately after the seeding round to determine the last qualifier's place in the Championship if necessary. All other players will be placed in a bracket based on seeding round scores with ties broken randomly.

The field is cut to the low 32 and players will play their first round match in the afternoon

The event is ranked by the World Amateur Golf Ranking. The 36-hole stroke play portion of the Championship is ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard.

- Champion receives 8 performance stars
- Semifinalists receive 4 performance stars
- Quarterfinalists receive 1 performance star
Practice Rounds
Practice rounds are available one week prior to the championship. Practice rounds may be played after 12:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The price for a practice round is $30.00 + tax. Please call (386) 672-1991 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.

Tyler Dierwechter earned the 2014 Junior Amateur Match Play (Boys 16-18) Championship after defeating Linus Lo 3 & 2 at Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville.

The Final match boiled down to Ryan Rozic, of Melbourne, and Connor Campbell, of Winter Garden. Rozic, number 13 seed, defeated Davis Hingtgen in the Semifinals, one-up, while Campbell earned a two and one victory over Linus Samuelsson to reach the Finals.
Ryan holed a chip shot for birdie on the fourth hole to match a birdie from Campbell! Campbell saved par with a great up and down on the 10th hole to keep the match all square. Rozic broke through on the 11th hole with a birdie to go one-up. Campbell fired back on the par five 12th hole by hitting the green in two with a chance for eagle. Campbell barely missed his eagle putt and two putted for birdie. Rozic, who hit the green in regulation, sinks a birdie putt to keep his one-up lead alive. The match returned to all square when Campbell found the back of the cup on the 15th hole to beat Rozic with a birdie.
