Two-Man Shoot-Out Champions Crowned
The father and son duo of Bret and Bryce Voisin held off a strong field to capture the Two-Man Shoot-Out held at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club, in Dade City on May 19-20.
The Voisin’s captured the Championship with a tournament total of 20-under par 196. In the first round of modified alternate shot on the North Course, the pair posted a three-under par round of 69, to trail the leaders by two strokes. Playing a scramble on the par 72 South Course in the second round, Bret and Bryce recorded an impressive round of 12-under par 60, to take a two stoke lead heading into the final round. Playing a Four-Ball in the final round on the South Course, the pair went on to fire a five-under par 67 to secure the Championship by just one stroke. Jeronimo Esteve and Thad Hudgens, finished alone in second place after rounds of 69-65-63 for a tournament total of 197. The team of Peter Dachisen and Jimmy Jones as well as the team of Matthew Anderson and Jack Hannon finished tied for third place with a tournament total of 17-under par 199.
The 146 yard Par 3 14th hole on the South course provided some added excitement to the Tournament. During Saturday afternoon's round, Ricky Lee, of Lakeland, aced the hole. On Sunday, Ricky, was paired with Nick Fernandez, from Pembroke Pines. As they played the 14th, it was Nick's turn and he holed his tee shot.
The field of 52 teams played three competitive rounds consisting of modified alternate shot, two-man scramble and the final 18 holes of four-ball. The first round was played on the North Course, with the last two round played on the South Course. Click here for full story.

Lake Jovita's two championship courses were built through an area of rolling hills and large oak trees just north of Tampa. Lake Jovita's golf amenities include a highly rated Golf Shop (Top 100 in America by Golf Business World) and a world-class fifteen-acre practice facility with bunkers and chipping area, and a one-acre putting green.. The FSGA has used Lake Jovita for Championships, FJT Tournaments and USGA qualifiers for many years.
Eligibility
Male amateurs must both be members of the FSGA.
Entry Fee
$380 ($400 - members who do not have an active FSGA/GHIN Handicap).
Championship Format
The Two-Man Shoot-Out is one of the FSGA's most enjoyable and interesting championships.
All stroke play,
- Saturday Morning - Modified Alternate Shot (18 holes) where each player drives, then the team selects a ball to be played into the hole on an alternate shot basis.
- Saturday Lunch - Included (with draft beverages)
- Saturday Afternoon Round - Two-Man Scramble (18 holes).
- Day 2, Third Round - Four Ball (Best Ball of Two - 18 holes)
- Play-Off - If necessary, there will be a three-hole aggregate score play-off for the championship. The play-off format will be the same as the Championship format (Modified Alternate Shot/Scramble/Four-Ball). If the play-off results in a tie, play will immediately continue, hole by hole. It is the player's responsibility to be present for any playoff.
Rounds & Prizes
Each round of the Shoot-Out is treated as a separate competition and gift certificates are awarded for each round. There is an over-all prize and Championship Team, but the emphasis and the majority of gift certificates are paid out on the basis of the individual rounds.

Course Set-Up
The golf course will be set-up approximately 6,700-6,900 yards.
Flights
After 36 holes. The number of flights will be based on the number of teams and/or the range of scores.

- Saturday PM - Shotgun 1:30 PM - South Course - Two-Man Scramble
- Sunday AM - Shotgun 8:00 AM - South Course - Four-Ball (Best Ball)
Practice Rounds
Practice rounds are available one week prior to the championship on a space available basis. The price for a practice round is $40.00 + tax. Please call (352) 588-9200 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course is unacceptable.
Carts
Carts are included for all competitive rounds. Players are responsible for practice round fees.

Thomas Midtgaard and Pete Williams carded a 72-64-67--203 for the victory at Bonita Bay Club.

Spectators and Caddies
Spectators and caddies are always welcome at FSGA Championships. Only players are allowed to ride in carts. If a player employs a caddie, the caddie MUST walk and the player's clubs must remain on the golf cart.

The FSGA Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee reserves the right to alter any of the conditions, provisions and/or schedules. The decision of the Championships Committee/on-site Rules Committee in any matter will be final.
