Men's Net Four-Ball Championship

Walt Disney World Golf (Palm/Magnolia) - Lake Buena Vista

December 3-4, 2016

2016 Men's Net Four-Ball Champions

Patrick Brisley/Andy Weber, Brian Thomas/Danny Henley, John Yohn/Brian Carroll

The Men’s Net Four-Ball Championship named three teams champion this weekend, December 3-4, at Walt Disney World Golf.  Play was conducted on the Palm course on Saturday and the Magnolia course on Sunday.  The teams of Andy Weber and Patrick Brisley, Brian Thomas and Danny Henley, and Brian Carroll and John Yohn captured their respective divisions.

The Under 50 Age Division was earned by Andy Weber and Patrick Brisley.  An opening round of 67 placed them one shot behind the overnight leading teams comprised of Amilka Delgado and Joseph Lee, and the 2015 Champions Mark Jenkins and Matt Ruthven. As play moved over to the Magnolia Course, the solid play by the 2014 Champions Weber and Brisley continued.  They closed with a final round 69, giving them a tournament total of 8-under par, 136 and a three stroke victory. The teams of Freddy Tapanes and Jorge Skala, and Amilka Delgado and Joseph Lee  finished second and third respectively.

The 50-64 Age Division was a highly contested fight filled with plenty of red numbers on the leaderboard.  Coming out on top was the team of Brian Thomas and Danny Henley.  The duo was able to come from three strokes behind after the first round to claim the victory. Thomas and Henley paced the field with a 63 on the Magnolia course.  Combining the spectacular 63 with a 67 from the Palm course resulted in a three shot victory over the team of brothers Marvin Hyer Sr and Ronnie Hyer, and Todd VanValkenburg and Jeff Brethouwer.

Finally, the 65 & Over Division saw Brian Carroll and John Yohn fire an impressive 67 on Saturday to get their team in the mix for the 2016 title. Carroll and Yohn, with a final round 9-under par 63, had the low round in their flight on Sunday. The impressive final round gave them a two stroke victory over the team of Mike Booher and Dick Ness. The teams of Kevin Hyman and David Norka, Raymond Ludwin and Larry Casale, and James Weed and Thomas Mansavage rounded out the top four.

This was the third year of the Men’s Net Four-Ball Championship, and it heads back to Disney again next year.
