Jiang & Zeng Earn First FJT Victories

Tony Jiang and Courtney Zeng prevailed at the Florida Junior Tour’s (FJT) 13-15 event at Worthington Country Club, in Bonita Springs, on August 24-25.

Tony Jiang, of Lake Mary, went wire-to-wire to earn his first FJT victory on Sunday. Jiang opened up the event with a five-under par 67 to take a one shot lead into the final round. Jiang continued his solid play in the final round making two birdies on 4 and 11, to go along with only one bogey, for his round of one-under par 71. Jiang posted a tournament total of six-under par 138, which was good enough for a two stroke victory.  Manuel Girona, of Windermere, and Andrew Kozan, of Palm Beach Gardens, finished tied for second place with a tournament total of four-under par 140. Girona fired the low round of the event on Sunday, carding an impressive round of six-under par 66.

Courtney Zeng, of Orlando, who was playing in her first FJT event, emerged victorious with an impressive six stroke victory. Zeng held a share of the overnight lead with Emma Bradley, of Naples, after their first rounds of one-over par 73. Zeng pulled away on Sunday posting a three-under par 69, which included birdies on 2, 4, 10, 11, and 16. Emma Bradley finished alone in second place with a tournament total of four-over par 148.  Kaely Krayeski, of Wellington, finished in third place after her rounds of 76-75.

Pace of Play

The FJT uses a checkpoint pace of play policy that provides no verbal warnings throughout the round. Each group is responsible for playing under the allotted time or finishing each checkpoint hole within 15 minutes of the group ahead of them.

Pace of play will be strictly enforced with anticipated rounds to be less than 4 hours and 45 minutes. We strongly recommend that all players and parents read and understand the Pace of Play Policy.
