Pam McCloskey Brosnihan Florida Junior Tour

Quail Ridge Country Club is dedicated to the memory of their former Head Golf Professional, Pam McCloskey-Brosnihan, who lost her battle with cancer in 2014. Pam started working at Quail Ridge in 1992 as the Assistant Professional until 1994 when she was promoted to Head Professional, the title she kept until her passing. Quail Ridge will honor Pam's memory by hosting an annual Florida Junior Tour event. Additionally, the Florida State Golf Association will offer a scholarship in Pam's name to a local junior player who demonstrates the determination, drive, and passion for the game we all love.

Girls 13-15 Division

Three players tied for first place after round two with a one under-par total of 143. Chloe Kovelesky, of Boca Raton, Caroline Patterson, of Jupiter, and Kaitlyn Schroeder, of Jacksonville, posted a score of 71 and 72 over two days to tie at the top. A sudden death play-off crowned Chloe Kovelesky the Champion. Kovelesky can add this prestigious FJT to her resume after winning nearly a month prior at Sandridge Golf Club. Amellie Alcantara and Emily McLatchey tied for fourth place, five strokes behind, with a 148 (+4) total. 

Boys 13-15 Division 

Nicklas Staub, of Boynton Beach, broke his round one tie with Logan Hunter to capture his first FJT win in 2018. Hunter, of Tampa, posted a round one score of 69 to tie Staub for the early lead. Due to a second round of 74, Hunter finished in third place, three strokes behind, at 143. Joshua Stewart, of Winter Springs, carded great rounds of 72-70—142 (-2) to finish in second place with red numbers. Staub posted ten birdies over the course of two rounds to capture first place at four under-par 140.

Built in 1977 by golf course architect Joe Lee, The South Course at Quail Ridge Country Club measures out at 6,755 yards. Located in Boynton Beach, FL, this Southeast Florida track always attracts a very competitive field. Special Events Provided by the Members of Quail Ridge CC

  • Tee gifts for players - golf balls, hat, towel
  • Demo Experience - Callaway & Taylormade will be on site at the driving range on Saturday, September 29th from 10 AM - 2 PM. They will have demo golf clubs and launch monitors for players to use.
  • Ice Cream Social - Quail Ridge will be providing ice cream for players as they finish their round on Saturday, September 29th.
  • Complimentary Lunch - Lunch will be provided for players & parents as we complete play on Sunday, September 30th. Please stick around for the award ceremony and enjoy a nice lunch.
  • Along with the standard FJT trophies, the winners will have their names etched in history on a permanent trophy which will be on display at the club.
  • Please see the hotel information at the bottom of the page. Quail Ridge CC has town homes on site. All reservation will be additionally discounted 10%.
  • Practice rounds for the junior golfers are free! $35 + tax if a parent would like to play with their junior golfer. 

Format

  • 36 holes of individual stroke play
  • 84 total players
  • 13-15 age division (age calculated by the last day of the tournament)

Divisions and Approximate Yardages

  • Boys 13-15 Age Division - 6,700 yards (gross only)
  • Girls 13-15 Age Division - 5,700 yards (gross only)

How Entries are Accepted

  • Players with an unused FJT exemption will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis (if submitted before the entry deadline).
  • Players without an FJT exemption - all other entries are held until the entry closing date.  Shortly after the closing date, a computer-generated random draw is performed to determine which entries are accepted, and the order of the alternates. All players are notified of their status after the random draw is conducted,
  • An alternates list will be posted to the FJT website under "Tee Times & Player Information".
  • Entries submitted after the entry deadline will be added to the bottom of the alternates list or used to fill any openings in the field.

How to Enter

Entries must be submitted through the FSGA website. To enter, each player must have an account on this website (free to setup), and a current FJT Junior Membership ($40). Click "Enter" above in the Tournament Links box.

Entry Fee

The entry fee of $95 (for GHIN handicap members) or $115 (non-GHIN handicap members) includes tournament rounds, range balls prior to tournament rounds, crystal trophies for the top three finishers, and a tee gift. 

To receive the GHIN handicap price, the player, or one of the player's parents must have an active GHIN handicap at a club in Florida. The seven digit GHIN number must be included and active when the entry is submitted. Click on the Handicaps tab above in the main menu for more information.

Late Fee:  A late fee of $10 will be applied to entries received after the entry deadline. The entry fee and late fee will only be charged if the player gets accepted into the tournament field.

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available one week prior and after 12:00 PM on the weekend. The price for a practice round is free for junior golfers and $35 for a parent. Please call 561-737-5100 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course, not filling divots, and not repairing ball marks are unacceptable and may cause removal from the tournament without a refund.

Parents may play for $35 (cash only).
