SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Lake Jovita emerged victorious as the 2024 Women’s Interclub Champions. Lake Jovita captured the victory by eight points over The Palencia Club to earn the title and raise the trophy.
The championship was held at World Golf Village on the Slammer and Squire course. The format of the event included thirty-six holes of new stableford stroke play in which the highest team stableford point total wins. Each team consists of four players who compete in each round of the championship with only the three best scores from each team counting. Lake Jovita held the lead with 100 points after the first round. The Dade City based team held a seven point advantage over The Palencia Club going into the final round.
However, in the second round The Palencia Club made a charge by earning 99 points, only one point shy of Lake Jovita for the day. Ultimately, it was not enough to make up the deficit over Lake Jovita. In addition, Fountains Country Club earned the most points in the final round with 103. The team moved three places up the leaderboard to secure a solo third place finish.
