FJT Cypress Creek Open (16-18)

RUSKIN, Fla. - Xirong Cheng and Jordyn Hodgson started their seasons with victories on Sunday at Cypress Creek Golf Club. It was the first Florida Junior Tour win for Cheng, while Hodgson earned her second FJT victory.
Boys 16-18 Division
Cheng earned his first FJT win on Sunday with a 1-under 143 for the tournament, the only under-par total in the division. After a first-round 76, the Bradenton native started the final round five shots back of the leader. He started the day with a bogey-free front nine, carding two birdies. Cheng birdied three-straight holes on the back nine to move into first place.
The 2021 graduate birdied the final hole to capture the victory. Cheng fired a final round 5-under 67 in the final round, the low round of the weekend.
Nicholas Estrada took home a second-place finish, posting an even-par 144 for the weekend. The Bradenton native, who began the final round in second place, was the only player in the field to post two rounds at even-par or better.
Kuangyu (Tony) Chen and Duncan Fischer finished in a tie for third place at 1-over 145. Both players carded a final round 2-under 70.
Girls 16-18 Division
Hodgson survived a playoff to pick up the win on Sunday, her second FJT victory. The Orlando native sat in a tie for second place heading into the final round, after posting a first-round 78. Beginning the day on the 10th hole, Hodgson carded five pars and headed to her second nine at 10-over.
The 2021 graduate posted three birdies on the second nine to finish the final round at 9-over 153 and in a three-way tie for first place. Hodgson pared the first playoff hole to defeat Izzy Pellot and Ellen Dong and earn the win.
Pellot and Dong finished in second place, while Bridget Ma took home a third place finish.

How Entries are Accepted
- Players with an unused FJT exemption will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis (if submitted before the entry deadline).
- Players without an FJT exemption - all other entries are held until the entry closing date. Shortly after the closing date, a computer-generated random draw is performed to determine which entries are accepted, and the order of the alternates. All players are notified of their status after the random draw is conducted,
- An alternates list will be posted to the FSGA website under "Tee Times & Player Information".
- Entries submitted after the entry deadline will be added to the bottom of the alternates list or used to fill any openings in the field.

How to Enter
Entries are submitted through the FSGA website. To enter, each player must create an FSGA account on this website (free to set-up), purchase a current Junior Membership ($40), and have an active Florida GHIN Handicap (included in membership if golfer does not already have one). To proceed, click the "Enter" button above once entries have opened.
Late Entry Fee: A late fee of $10 will be applied to entries submitted after the close of entries date. The entry fee and late fee will only be applied if the player gets accepted in to the tournament field.
Practice rounds are available one week prior to the tournament on a space-available basis. Tee times are only available after 12:00 noon the weekend prior. The price for a practice round is $25.00 + tax. Please call (813) 634-8888 to arrange your practice round. The proper place to practice your golf swing is on the driving range, hitting multiple shots on the course, not filling divots, and not repairing ball marks are unacceptable and may cause removal from the tournament without a refund.
